larry conley bio
Larry was born and raised in central Ohio. Although both of his parents played music, it was the regular jam sessions at their home that most influenced his desire to play bluegrass music. On many Saturday nights when all the chores were complete, musicians from the local area would arrive and play until the hour was late and the fingers were sore. Influenced by the great entertainers heard on the Grand Old Opry, it became every musicians goal to play and sing like the masters.
After spending time in the military, Larry moved to Pennsylvania and settled down in a community with strong bluegrass roots. There he stayed and played for the next 20 years until work opportunities led him to the West. Over the years he has had the opportunity to play at many festivals, gatherings and competitions.
Larry plays rhythm guitar and sings lead and harmony. He very much enjoys singing and playing bluegrass gospel music. Over the years he has played with several great bluegrass bands including Far from the City, The Blue Mountain Gang, and the Rincon Mountain Boys.
